American Idol is just two weeks away from crowning a new winner, but to get to that pivotal final round, the reality show had to eliminate one of the final four potential Idols on Thursday night.
'He's focusing on his music right now,' a rep for Detroit MC confirms of delay on boxing movie.

It's been almost 10 years since fans saw Eminem in his first big-time movie role, but they'll have to wait a little bit longer to catch him the second time around.
The rapper has long been signed on to star in "Southpaw," a gritty drama about a boxer who tries to mount a comeback in life and in the ring, but it is now being reported that Em will put the flick on the backburner.
"He's focusing on his music right now, so while he's doing that, while he's in that space, he wanted to put this on hold for the time being," Eminem's rep Dennis Dennehy told the Detroit Free Press this week.
In November Em's "8 Mile" will turn 10 years old. The film was both a commercial and critical success, and while Marshall has gone on to make cameos in 2009's "Funny People" and on the wildly popular HBO series "Entourage," he has yet to return to the big or small screen as a leading man.
The film's original distributor, DreamWorks, shelved the boxing project last August, but in October it was reported that Sony Pictures had picked up the flick, which will be made by MGM and directed by Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day," "Brooklyn's Finest").
The good news is that when the Recovery rapper is ready to dive into production, he won't have to travel far from his native Detroit to do it. "What I'm told is when the film does get made, the plan is that the bulk of it will be shot in Michigan. That was always the understanding," said Dennehy.

Ryan Seacrest is a very good sport -- which the world witnessed on Oscars night when The Dictator, a.k.a. Sacha Baron Cohen, spilled an urn full of ashes on the TV personality. But the E! News host finally got to the bottom of why the role-playing comedian chose him to prank that night.
Fight coordinator Jonathan Eusebio leads MTV News through the movie's biggest battles.

As you're watching "The Avengers" on the big screen, it's easy to forget that the heroes you see fighting the alien invaders are actually paid actors and that those actors learned their moves not from a secret government agency like S.H.I.E.L.D., but from fight coordinator Jonathan Eusebio.
Eusebio spoke with MTV News in the lead-up to Marvel's ultimate crossover to walk us through each key fight scene.
There are some minor spoilers ahead, so if you haven't seen "The Avengers" yet, consider yourself warned.
Black Widow in Chair
"Joss [Whedon] already had in his head how he wants the fight to look and how he thinks she would get out of this situation. He gave us notes on what he wants, and we design the fight around those notes. We choreograph it. We show it to him. There are more notes, and we just keep changing it until he's 100 percent happy.
"The chair makes it interesting. You need some kind of gimmick to make the fight different and to give it some interesting story point. Her being strapped to a chair and being interrogated, we already have the premise set out for us. We just have to be inventive on how to get her out.
"The hardest part is that it's very hard to be mobile, even moving around fighting with that thing strapped to your back. There are a lot of things that have to go along with it. We have to find the right chair at the right height, so that we can stand with it, that we can move around with it."
Thor vs. Iron Man vs. Captain America
"With those kinds of fights that involve a lot of digital effects, we have the base things outlined. When they're actually interacting with each other, that's our job with the stunt people. When Iron Man and Thor are throwing each other around up in the air, there's kind of a handoff from practical people to computer-generated people. Each department has to work together to make it seamless.
"What makes it interesting is all of them there together; you're trying to do your best to stay true to what people identify as their characteristics. There's no one character that I find more fascinating. What's interesting is the dynamic between five or six people and keeping them different enough to make it fresh."
Hawkeye vs. Black Widow
"The thing about these two characters is that they're not superhuman in the sense that the other superheroes are, so you just have these two agents with vast skill sets. For Jeremy [Renner] and Scarlett [Johansson], they had to really train hard because they're not just fighting aliens or computer-generated guys; they're fighting each other also. A lot of their training involved them working out together quite a bit.
"We cover a mix of different martial arts, but more practical martial arts, a mix of karate, jujitsu, judo, Pilipino martial arts, muay Thai boxing. It's a bunch of different elements of a bunch of practical martial arts."
Hulk vs. Thor
"The Hulk is completely computer-generated, but Chris Hemsworth had to actually interact with a person during that whole skirmish. We had a stunt double for the Hulk, so Chris was interacting with him the whole time you see the Hulk onscreen. The Hulk's also three or four feet taller than Thor is, so visual effects had to keep reminding us, 'This is where the Hulk's head is. This is how long the Hulk's reach is.' We had to work side-by-side with them for that whole sequence."
The Big Finale
"We had a team of 20 or so stunt men for the whole run of the movie. Not only did we have doubles for all the actors, but for Loki's army, we had a whole crop of stunt men, 10 to 12 core guys. All we did is choreograph huge action pieces for the whole last sequence. When that sequence actually came up, we already had really good pieces choreographed and rehearsed with most of the actors and the stunt people.
"It was really good that the actors trained really hard. There were some days that were tough and we had to make stuff up on the spot, and not just individual one-on-one type pieces. It would be pieces where it's eight-on-one, and the actors would pick it up on the spot, that day. I was pretty proud of the fact that they could adapt to changes on the spot. There's a Thor-Captain America team-up in the street, that one we pieced together pretty quick the day before we were going to shoot it. I think that turned out really good."
Check out everything we've got on "Marvel's The Avengers."

Amid rumors that Spears will appear on Madge's 'Girls Gone Wild,' MTV News looks back at their history together.
By Jocelyn Vena
<P>Could it be that <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/madonna/artist.jhtml">Madonna</a> has enlisted her pal <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a> for <a href="/news/articles/1678197/madonna-mdna-album.jhtml"><i>MDNA</i></a>? </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Britney Spears, Madonna Get In The Zone For 'Me Against The Music' Video" id="vid:623135.id:1657989" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>Well, according to a leaked album jacket, it seems that Spears is making an appearance on the album's lead track, "Girls Gone Wild." </P><P> </P><P>This would mark the second collaboration on the album. Madonna nabbed Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. for the album's first single, <a href="/news/articles/1678478/madonna-give-me-all-your-luvin-video.jhtml">"Give Me All Your Luvin'."</a> </P><P>While the leaked jacket, which appeared on Britney fansite <a href="http://www.breatheheavy.com/2012/02/britney-on-new-madonna-album/?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed" target="_blank">Breatheheavy.com</a>, can't be confirmed as authentic, a rep for Madge had no comment about the rumor, neither confirming nor denying it. Meanwhile, a rep for Spears never returned MTV News' request for comment. </P><P> </P><P>This is hardly the first time that the two ladies have worked together. In fact, they have quite a history with each other. </P><P> </P><P>The duo kicked off their nearly decade-long friendship at the 2003 VMAs when, in case you hadn't heard, they <a href="/news/articles/1669706/britney-spears-mtv-vma-history.jhtml">shared an onstage kiss</a> while performing together. It was the kiss seen and heard around the world, and nearly 10 years later it is still often talked about as one of the most memorable moments in the show's storied history. </P><P> </P><P>After they shared that smooch, Spears was inspired to get the Queen of Pop on her lead <i>In the Zone</i> single, <a href="/news/articles/1658075/britney-spears-me-against-the-music.jhtml">"Me Against the Music."</a> "I was in the middle of rehearsals for the VMAs and I played her the song, and she was like, 'That's your first single, right?' " Britney recalled in a vintage interview with MTV. "I was like, 'Yeah, hopefully.' She was like, 'I really like it.' I was like, 'Really?' I was like, 'Well, you wanna do it with me?' She said, 'Yeah.' " </P><P> </P><P>They later appeared together in the warehouse-set video with one another, playing a pop star cat-and-mouse game that featured a near kiss. </P><P> </P><P>Five years later, as Spears was prepping her return to the pop spotlight, she appeared <a href="/news/articles/1598804/britney-spears-justin-timberlake-appear-onstage-with-madonna.jhtml">onstage with Madonna</a> during a Sticky & Sweet Tour stop at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The singer hit the stage with the pop icon to perform "Human Nature" by her side. </P><P> </P><P>That same year, Madonna appeared in <a href="/news/articles/1600361/britney-spears-talks-breakups-breakdowns-in-for-the-record.jhtml">Spears' documentary, "For the Record,"</a> where she spoke about the younger singer. "I admire her as an artist," the Material Girl said, adding that she sees a lot of herself in Spears. </P><P>In 2011, as Spears was prepping the release of her album <i>Femme Fatale,</i> in an <a href="/news/articles/1659522/britney-spears-plastic-surgery-out-magazine.jhtml">interview with <i>Out</i> magazine</a>, she noted that she truly admires her friend. "Madonna. No question. She is an amazing entertainer," she said when asked whose career she most would want to emulate. </P><P> </P><P>As Madonna preps the release of <i>MDNA</i> in March, Spears is also the topic of conversation in a recent interview with her. When asked by ABC News what it was like to smooch the pop princess, she commented, "Nice moment, good kisser. Cool," she said, clarifying that she wouldn't do it again. "No, I already did it. I don't like to repeat myself." </P><P> </P><P>Well, perhaps a kiss would be "reductive" (her word, not ours), but it seems given the love that Madge and Spears fans have for the two pop stars, they wouldn't mind them cooking up some musical magic. </P><P>The track, "Girls Gone Wild," was teased in a megamix that dropped last week and it certainly feels like it would lend itself to both Madonna and Brit's musical sensibilities: It's fist-pumpingly dance-y, sexy and all about going out and having a good time, with Madge proclaiming, "Girls, they just want to have some fun/ Get fired up like a smoking gun/ On the floor till the daylight comes/ Girls, they just want to have some fun." </P><P> </P><P><center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:728690/cp~id%3D1672718%26vid%3D728690%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A728690%26instance%3Dmtv" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="." flashVars=""></embed></center> </P><P> </P><P><i>What would you think of a new Britney Spears/ Madonna collabo? Cirque du Soleil show pays tribute to late icon with world tour.
By Uptin Saiidi
<P><B>NEWARK, New Jersey</B> — Music, dance and acrobatics combine in celebration of <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/jackson_michael/artist.jhtml">Michael Jackson</a>'s iconic life in the "Immortal" World Tour. From trapeze artists to acrobats and even a world-champion pole dancer, guests at the Cirque du Soleil show can expect a high-energy tribute to the legend. </P><P> </P><P>The tour stopped for two nights in Newark, New Jersey, this past weekend (its 40th stop) and will open Tuesday night (April 3) at New York's Madison Square Garden, where it will remain through Thursday. From there, it will continue across North America through the summer before heading to Europe in the fall. </P><P> </P><P><center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:755805/cp~vid%3D755805%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A755805" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></center> </P><P> </P><P>Having already produced the <a href="http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/en/shows/love/default.aspx" target="_blank">Beatles "Love" show</a> in Las Vegas, Cirque is no stranger to musical tributes. </P><P> </P><P>"Immortal" serves as a sensory explosion that starts on the subdued side and progresses in both spectacle and energy. More than 60 artists perform to 32 songs in a presentation that feels much like a concert with an ensemble of circus-inspired acts elegantly melding together. The stage is two levels with a long peninsula extending into the audience, where the majority of the acrobatics takes place. MJ's famed choreographic style was present in nearly all the numbers, and the audacious task of the performers was well-received by the audience. </P><P> </P><P>The progression of the musical numbers moved seamlessly. The energy kicked into high gear with Jackson-like characters performing "Fanatics Medley" as Jackson 5 — one of them in MJ's signature fedora and another as a gold-suited mime. Jackson's youth was remembered in "Childhood" during which a recording of Jackson's voice referred to his early stardom as he sang, "Have you seen my childhood?/ It's been my fate to compensate/ For the childhood I've never known." </P><P> </P><P>While the moving screens, elaborate stage designs and detailed costumes were impressive, one of the most awe-inspiring moments was witnessing what the human body is capable of during the pole-dancing number. Felix Cane, a two-time world pole-dancing champion, maneuvered in the sky dancing on a pole — with no harness — appropriately performing to "Dangerous," as the audience was captivated by her every move. </P><P> </P><P>Another highlight was "Human Nature," during which the back screens were dominated by Neverland graphics and an image of a young Michael sitting on the moon. In front of the backdrop, a half-dozen artists wrapped in multicolored LED costumes soared through the air in sync, representing the constellations. </P><P> </P><P>"Beat It" got the crowd moving while they watched performers in MJ's signature accessories, including his famous glove and penny loafers, dance in dynamic movement. A rock-infused duel between an electric guitar and electric cello capped the song. </P><P> </P><P>After an elaborate performance to "Black or White," as the night seemed to be over and the audience slowly started spilling into the aisles, the lights illuminated one last time for an encore to "Man in the Mirror." The artists appeared to take a bow in front of exploding fireworks. </P><P> </P><P><i>Have you seen "Immortal"? Share your review below!</i></p>
